Daemon 4
- DAEMON 4 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It is part of the "Daemon" series I started for "Fantastic Stories".
My text for the story appeared in white ink just above the huge planet:
"For immeasurable eons of time this great universe of REALITY moved in absolute harmony. Until that cosmic moment when the ETERNAL, incomprehensibly endowed some life-forms with the capacity to think, to dream, to create, and incredibly, to challenge the unknown. The unknown . . . The path that leads to, "THE ETERNAL".
Most of the ancient cultures I've read about sacrificed members of their own society to appease Gods that did not exist. History is filled with armies that fought for causes based on false beliefs. So I wrote;
4. Don't make your story simply about good men defeating bad men, make it also about finding the "truth" and about "change". Truth is eternal, Change is the one constant in the universe, so make your adventures change your characters, their experiences should alter them in some way as they discover the "truth".
5. Remember to end each installment in the magazine with a new revelation, a kind of cliff-hanger.
